New details have emerged about the events leading to a district-wide school lockdown on Thursday.

According to the Winthrop Marshal’s Office, a person from outside the area, who is associated with a student, got into an argument with several other students around lunch time on Thursday in the parking lot of LBHS. After a brief argument, these students reported that the visitor flashed a pistol out the window of his vehicle.

The vehicle involved was located on Twisp River Road by Elbow Coulee and the subject was arrested and booked into Okanogan County Jail. The vehicle was impounded and the OCSO applied for a search warrant.

The subject was released from Okanogan County Jail this morning, according to the Winthrop Marshal’s Office.
