A level 3 emergency evacuation was ordered for residents near the Stud Horse Mountain Fire near Winthrop, which is burning 500 acres, according to Watch Duty. The fire is encompassing Pearrygin Lake south to Davis Lake.

There is a prescribed burn from the southern tip of Davis Lake to Balky Hill Road.

Methow Valley Elementary’s gymnasium has been set up for evacuees.
