Regarding the school board meeting in December, I was attempting to encourage the board to join the many other school districts and write a resolution promoting the protection of girls from unfair competition with biological males and associated safety concerns. Both the board and Superintendent wrote back to me saying they will not move forward and be proactive by drafting a resolution. They are choosing to standby and do nothing. I had hoped they would have used some common sense on this issue and take the correct stand. On February 5th President Trump by executive order has outlawed the policy allowing biological males to compete in girls sports. Any violators of this order face prosecution and termination of federal funding for their schools. The question now is how will our state legislature respond to this presidential order? They must rewrite the laws that presently states that participation in girls sports is determined by the gender identity one assumes rather than their biological sex determined at birth. If the legislature acts like our school district and does nothing, federal funding could be cut off and do great harm to all of our students!
