This was the conclusion by the Okanogan County Farm Bureau board after it reviewed the county budget and found $3.5 million in possible savings. We presented our findings to the county commissioners to choose the best options to address the $2.5 million county shortfall. 

The commissioners did not accept any of our recommendations. Their reasoning was they did not want to lay off employees and cause economic hardship. No complete answer was given for why…
