It’s Pi Day, which I finally remembered without prompts. No one else around me mentioned it. Perhaps it’s because of the thriller week we had locally.
For anyone that stayed up late last night during what seemed like cold winter again, they were greeted with a red hue over the normally sparkly white moon. Standing in my pajamas with my warmest coat on, I imagined myself on a Greek island. Astronomy had to have developed in warm climates, I thought to myself. It’s too cold to be out at night.
Don Rudolph from the Dark Sky Coalition shared this photo taken of the moon on Thursday night and into the wee hours on Friday in Twisp. It was taken with a “telescope and a dedicated astrophotography camera.” I feel blessed that someone in this community has one.
