Jim Salter submits two ballots in Twisp on Oct. 30.

In 47 states, including ours, elections are underway.

Today, I submitted my ballot. On the national stage, I voted based on what problems I wanted to have in the next four years.

Each candidate comes with problems. For me, it came down to which problems I’d prefer to experience in the next four years.

Or, what do you want to read about over the next four years?

The good news coming out of this election cycle is the high turnout. Longtime PBS news anchor Jim Lehrer advised not to underestimate the audience.

“Assume the viewer is as smart and caring and good a person as I am,” he liked to quip.

If there is one thing that I can hope for in this dismal state of affairs, it’s that our collective votes have more wisdom than an individual’s.

With that, I wanted to make voting a bit more fun. Here’s me posing before I dropped my ballot.

I practiced ballet for a long time, but my jeans wouldn’t let me do an attitude.

And my arm isn’t properly placed, nor my foot, but by this point, I was going for the goofy look.

If you want to submit your ballot, or ballet pose, please feel free.

Let’s try to find some fun and amusement.

It’s a challenge for me, as I tend to lean on the more serious side, so your collective support is appreciated.

And needed.
